  4. Aug. 17th, '95    MAJOR NEW RELEASE.
  5.                   Release of the new MCBase V2.0: a fully event driven,
  6.                   mouse controlled, object oriented, dBaseIII+ compatible,
  7.                   relational-to-the-max, windowing database management
  8.                   system, with handy dialogs, to set your personal configu-
  9.                   ration preferences. The only REAL database system for the
  10.                   music collector.

  13. July 10th, '95    Updated version 1.1f to 1.1g: a maintenance release.
  14.                   Modifications to registration key recognition routine.
  15.                   Registration was recognized, but the databases evaluation
  16.                   limits weren't correctly unlocked.

  19. Mar. 22nd, '95    Updated version 1.1e to 1.1f: Documentation updates (and
  20.                   program changes, see below). Added a new VendInfo record,
  21.                   according to the latest standard, in order to comply with
  22.                   the new set-up for the ASP CD-rom distribution.

  24.                   Added a (file based) registration key system to MCBase.
  25.                   This will enable a registered user, with a valid regist-
  26.                   ration key, to turn any V1.x shareware copy into a per-
  27.                   sonally registered version: MBase will look for the
  28.                   excistence of the registration key file and will present
  29.                   itself as a registered version *if* the registration key
  30.                   is found to be valid. (If not, it will continue to behave
  31.                   as a shareware copy).

  33.                   Also added a small (set of) sample database(s), so that
  34.                   the user will be able to "play around" with the system,
  35.                   without having to enter data first.

  38. May 25th, '94:    Updated version 1.1d to 1.1e: Documentation updates (and
  39.                   program changes, see below). Added a VendInfo record to
  40.                   the documentation and modified the distribution-policy to
  41.                   be more "friendly".

  43.                   Also added a possibility to accept credit card orders,
  44.                   using PsL's order processing services.

  46.                   Finally, I removed the encryption on MCBase's executable
  47.                   code. As it seems, some computers COULD have had trouble
  48.                   running MCBase because of this encryption.

  52.                   small program changes) in order to comply with ASP requi-
  53.                   rements.

  56. Mar. 14th, '94:   Updated version 1.1b to 1.1c: Corrected a SERIOUS error
  57.                   in the documentation, discribing the locationcode.

  59.                   For tapes, the first 5 (!) digits of the (12 digit)
  60.                   locationcode are reserved for the actual tape number,
  61.                   instead of the discribed 2 digits. (The screen report for
  62.                   tapes is scanning for the first 5 digits, to find the
  63.                   first and last entry belonging to a certain tape). See
  64.                   the updated section 8 in the documentation for further
  65.                   information.

  67.                   Also elimitated a possible GP-error in the protected mode
  68.                   version.

  71. Mar. 5th, '94:    Updated version 1.1a to 1.1b: Modified all "Add" functi-
  72.                   ons, to stay active until the user decides that he/she is
  73.                   done. (Artist and Album "Add" fuctions were left after
  74.                   adding 1 entry. This was based on the idea that one would
  75.                   process the data one album at a time).

  77.                   Eliminated the possible occurance of an "error 100:
  78.                   Record out of range" while printing the reports. (It
  79.                   could occur under certain circumstances).

  81.                   Eliminated a possible counting error in the "Artist
  82.                   overview"-report.

  87. Jan. 7th, '94:    Updated version 1.1 to 1.1a: As mentioned in the documen-
  88.                   tation of the previous versions (in section "Future
  89.                   plans"), the processing speed of printer option "Songs by
  90.                   artist" needed to be increased.
  91.                   In this update, this processing speed has been success-
  92.                   fully increased to a normal level.

  94.                   I've also included a function to cancel any running
  95.                   printjob by pressing the ESCape-key.

  98. Nov. 24th '93:    Updated version 1.0c to 1.1, a major new release:
  99.                   Eliminated the need for a pre-selection on databases with
  100.                   more than 1000 entry's. (Credit for this goes to Griffin
  101.                   Solutions, who managed to realize virtual memory usage in
  102.                   their GS_dBase routine library: Thanks, Richard!).

  104.                   The "Allfield Editor" is added to the application as a
  105.                   standard item and also added is an separate "Append"
  106.                   option, so a user does not need to go through the "Edit"-
  107.                   selection list if he or she simply wants to "Append".

  109.                   The menu structure has been a bit modified to accomodate
  110.                   the above mentioned additions.

  112.                   Also, the bank adress has been altered to the adress of
  113.                   the Rabobank's headoffice in Utrecht.

  115.                   Last, but not least, a new pricing schedule is introdu-
  116.                   ced, to enable a low-budget registration on the project.
  117.                   This is done by the introduction of two diffent types of
  118.                   users: a BASIC and a DEDICATED user, of wich the latter
  119.                   has a very interesting discount on future updates. See
  120.                   the ORDER.MCB document for further information on regist-
  121.                   ration options and prices.

  124. October 5th, '93: Updated version 1.0b to 1.0c, a maintenance release:
  125.                   Eliminated two errors that occured in the album selection
  126.                   list for option #7, "View albums by artists".

  128.                   1) When returning from the reportscreen after viewing an
  129.                   album (WITH the additional artistname display activated),
  130.                   the program would generate a NEW album selection list for
  131.                   the artistname that appeared on the bottom of the report
  132.                   screen, instead of using the original artistname that was
  133.                   selected by the user.

  135.                   2) While walking through the albums of the different
  136.                   artists, a heap error (#203) could occur. The memory of
  137.                   the album selection list wasn't properly released.
  138.  
  139.                   Also eliminated an error in option #4, "Query on artist".
  140.                   A messagebox, to allow albumtitle display with each
  141.                   songtitle, sometimes appeared without a valid reason.

  143.                   Last, but not least, I added the following text to the
  144.                   ORDER.ME document, in order to prevent further questions
  145.                   on the subject:

  147.                   REGISTRED MCBASE USERS can receive MAINTENANCE UPDATES
  148.                   for shipping costs only. (NOTE: CompuServe users can
  149.                   receive their maintenance update through CompuServe mail,
  150.                   minimizing the need for shipping costs, thus FOR FREE!).
  151.                   (Same goes for users who can download it from my private
  152.                   host system, wich is standby on request).

  155. August 19th, '93: Updated version 1.0a to 1.0b, a maintenance release:
  156.                   Eliminated an error that could cause the system to be
  157.                   caught in an endless loop, if the last record in a data-
  158.                   base file was a "deleted" record.
  159.                   Also improved some text in a messagebox, displayed while
  160.                   the function "deleted" was processing the album database.

  164.                   Some reportscreens had a bit of trouble with uncleared
  165.                   screens. The data from the previous information on the
  166.                   screen was sometimes not fully erased, which garbled the
  167.                   new information.
